All participants must behave in a manner that ensures safety for themselves and others.  Visitors will be undertaking activities very similar to those done by our students.  We will endeavour to ensure that our safety standards are at least as high as those experienced by our own students.  However, we will be treating visitors as responsible adults, as they will be the same age as a number of our entrant students. Should a pupil appear to require urgent first aid or medical treatment, we will endeavour to provide first aid by one of our qualified staff, and/or to contact the local health centre or ambulance service as appropriate.  Following any such incident we would attempt to inform the school concerned.

We will be booking the coaches in a manner corresponding to that previously advised by science advisers in Dundee and Fife, requesting the company to ensure that safety standards are appropriate for school pupils.  Pupils must behave in a safe and responsible manner on the buses and in their travel to/from them at both ends of the journey.  Pupils should be advised that they should be aware of the possible risks caused by any encounters with people while travelling to/from and waiting at bus stops, and during the rest of the day. 

Schools are advised that we will not normally phone them during this day to tell them of the non-arrival of one of their pupils, though we will be in a position after the event to advise them, on request, on which of their pupils attended.
