International Foundation Programme (IFP) January scholarship

The International Education Institute awards the IFP January scholarship to up to five exceptional students planning to start an International Foundation programme in January 2023. Up to five successful candidates will receive £2,000 each, towards the cost of their tuition fee.

To be eligible to apply for the IFP January scholarship, you must have:
- received an offer from the University of St Andrews to study an International Foundation programme starting in January 2023
- completed an application to the IFP January scholarship
- emailed your video submission to ifp@st-andrews.ac.uk by Monday 31 October 2022.

Additional criteria and information
Students applying to the IFP January scholarship must email a one-minute video to ifp@st-andrews.ac.uk as part of their scholarship application.
Your video is your opportunity to demonstrate:
- your interest in your chosen subject
- a well-structured presentation, showing why you believe that the programme you have chosen will help you to build on your High School education and prepare you for your future studies in the UK.
Your video can include music, photographs, graphics and subtitles but it must also include at least 20 seconds of you talking directly to camera.

The amount is automatically deducted from the total tuition fee for the International Foundation programme for January 2023 entry. No cash alternative is offered.
The IFP January scholarship is not transferable to any other programme of study at the University of St Andrews. The offer of a scholarship is provisional upon the offer holder accepting and enrolling on an International Foundation programme (January 2023 entry) by the enrolment deadline.

This scholarship is available for application through Scholarships and Funding. After you have applied for an International Foundation Programme starting in January 2023, you can access Scholarships and Funding through My Application.
By applying for the scholarship, you agree to the University of St Andrews using:
- Your video submission for promotional purposes.
- An image of you in promotional materials.

Your video should demonstrate:
- your interest in your chosen subject
- a well-structured presentation, showing why you believe that the programme you have chosen will help you to build on your High School education and prepare you for your future studies in the UK.
The file name of your video should include:
- your student ID number at the University of St Andrews
- your first name and last name
- the name of the programme you applied for.
A file name would therefore look like this example: 200018171-DoraLam-MedicalSciences-IntensiveStudy
Email your one-minute video to ifp@st-andrews.ac.uk including:
- your name
- the name of the programme you applied for.
Your email address must match the email address you used when you applied for your foundation programme.
At what stage of my course application can I apply for this scholarship?
You can only apply for the IFP January scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria.
When will I hear if my scholarship application has been successful?
Applicants who have been selected for the scholarship will be informed by Monday 14 November 2022. Only successful applicants will be informed officially of the outcome.
The selection panel will consist of a group of key staff from the International Education Institute at the University of St Andrews. All decisions of the panel are final. Being eligible does not mean an automatic entitlement to scholarship, as the final selection is based on the video submission.
