Fee information

The tuition fee includes:
- access to all University facilities
- the use of course books, handouts and other course materials
- a transfer from Edinburgh or Glasgow airport, or Leuchars train station, when you first arrive.

To confirm your acceptance of an offer to study an International Foundation programme at the University, please pay your pre-payment within two weeks of receiving your conditional or unconditional offer.
The amount of £2,000 will be deducted from your total fees.
For visa applicants
Due to immigration rules regarding financial evidence and maintenance, we strongly recommend that you do not pay more than your pre-payment until you have been successful in your visa application.For sponsored applicants
Sponsored applicants must provide a financial guarantee letter from their sponsor to ifpapplications@st-andrews.ac.uk. -
You are required to pay tuition fees before your programme starts but you can pay your balance in one single payment or in two or four instalments.

We recommend that you request an en suite single room in David Russell Apartments but you can choose to have a self-catered or catered package. David Russell Apartments are just a short walk from your classes.

How to pay your fees
You must pay your pre-payment within two weeks of receiving your conditional or unconditional offer. You can pay your balance in one single payment or in two or four instalments.
As a foundation student you can use the undergraduate instalment plan.

Making a Convera GlobalPay international bank transfer
Have your 9-digit student identity (ID) number ready, as you will need to provide this to make the transfer.
Fill out the Convera GlobalPay online form and enter the amount you are paying next to option 5 ‘International Education Institute/Foundation’. Use this option for either pre-payment or a balance payment.
You will receive an email confirming the details that will be needed by your bank, including a reference number.
Contact your bank with these details (by phone or in person) so that they can arrange the payment through Convera GlobalPay on your behalf.

For high-value transactions, it is strongly recommended that you contact your card issuer to advise them you are intending to process a transaction for the payment of fees.
To make a payment using your credit card:
- Go to the University's online payment web page.
- Complete the 'Student Details' section, including your date of birth and your 9-digit student ID number.
- Read through and tick the box to accept the University's terms and conditions.
- Confirm who is paying the fees (yourself, an agent, a parent, or sponsor).
- Choose option 5, 'International Education Institute/Foundation' and enter the amount you are paying. Use this option for either a pre-payment or a balance payment.
