The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are half the value of SCOTCAT credits.

Module description

This module is designed to provide a basic understanding of research design and statistics that will provide the foundations for independent empirical research and critical analysis required in the final year of the Honours programme. Emphasis will be placed on the acquisition of analysis skills. The syllabus will include core aspects such as basic statistics, technical writing and the use of statistical packages.
