Module description
This module continues on from CN2012 and will broaden students’ vocabulary of the language at a pace of roughly 30 new Chinese characters per week, and to focus on consolidating existing and new grammar points and on building familiarity with the strongly idiomatic nature of the Chinese language. Writing and reading skills will continue being taught mainly in traditional Chinese characters. In addition, students will continue to acquire the Second Chinese Language (1 weekly contact hour) they started in Semester1 CN 2012 (EITHER Cantonese OR Hokkien); in Cantonese they will be introduced to Cantonese-only characters to facilitate the reading of written Cantonese.
