Chinese studies

Chinese is the most-spoken language in the world. At St Andrews, Chinese studies focus on the linguistic and cultural entity that is China and the Chinese-speaking world today.

Go beyond language acquisition and be exposed to the breadth and depth of Chinese cultural practices. Chinese studies encompass mainstream, popular and dissident cultures, in all their national, regional, ethnic and diasporic diversity.
