Formal events

The University of St Andrews is home to a vast range of annual balls, events, and fashion shows. All of these special events are run by students, but that does not mean that they lack professionalism.

From the Mermaids Christmas Ball to Graduation Ball for graduating students, there are plenty of events to choose from. You can strut your stuff at the RAG Week Catwalk Show, or party at one of the University's many music festivals. Rarely a week goes by without a popular event being held.

As a student at the University, as well as attending the events, you can also play a part in organising and producing them. They provide you with a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and are also a great way to make friends and have some fun along the way. Take a look at the full list of student societies – all of which are active and welcoming to new members – or think about joining the Ents Crew to learn how to run events of your own.
