The University of St Andrews is offering £2,000 fee reduction scholarships for entrants only with a fee status of Overseas studying an on-campus MSc (International Education or TESOL course) starting in January 2027. The scholarships will be awarded to students with six months of relevant work experience.
To be eligible to apply you must hold an offer to study on an MSc TESOL programme (January start) or the MSc International Education programme (January start) at the University of St Andrews by the time the scholarship submission deadline date.
Value of award (per year)
£2,000 towards tuition fees.
Duration of award
This award is paid for the duration of the programme.
At what stage of my course application can I apply for this scholarship?
Please apply for the award after you have submitted your application for a place at St Andrews. You do not need to wait until you have received an offer of a place before applying for the award. However, you must hold an offer to study on an MSc TESOL or International Education programme at the University of St Andrews by the time of the scholarship submission deadline date.

Decisions about your suitability for the scholarship will be based on the work experience you list in your CV, which you should upload as part of the course application.
The Graduate Discount does not apply to students who have previously studied on an International Education and Lifelong Learning Institute postgraduate preparation programme. You cannot receive both awards.
How to apply
This scholarship is available through the MSc International Education and MSc TESOL Online Scholarship (January 2027 Entry - Overseas Students/On Campus) application form. You can access this application through the Scholarships and funding catalogue in the Scholarships and funding section of My application.
After you have applied to a new course beginning in the academic year 2026-2027, you will be provided with login details for the My application portal. You must allow at least two working days for processing and issue of your log in details before you can apply for this scholarship.

- The scholarship offer is conditional on the applicant accepting and enrolling on the Online MSc TESOL or Online MSc International Education programme by the enrolment deadline.
- Only applicants who hold an offer for one of these eligible programmes at the University of St Andrews will be considered.
- Scholarship recipients will be selected by a panel of staff from the International Education and Lifelong Learning Institute. All decisions are final.
- The International Education and Lifelong Learning Institute reserves the right not to make an award if no suitable applications are received.
- The award has no cash alternative and is not transferable to other programmes. If the recipient does not enrol on an eligible programme, the award will be withdrawn.
