Scholarships for taught postgraduate programmes

St Andrews is committed to attracting the very best students, regardless of financial circumstances. Bursaries and scholarships are designed to provide assistance to help students support themselves during their time at university and also aim to reward academic excellence.

UK/EU

Funded by the University

The following scholarships are funded by the University of St Andrews and generous donations are made by alumni and friends of the University of St Andrews, charitable trusts and other organisations and companies.

  • Accommodation Award
    For new postgraduate students, based on financial need. This scholarship can only be used to reduce the cost of University accommodation.

  • Carnegie-Cameron Bursaries 
    Not available for 2018 entryFor students born in Scotland, of Scottish descent or who have been resident in Scotland for at least three years.

  • Recent Graduate Discount 
    For postgraduate students who have graduated from the University of St Andrews in the last three years.

  • Santander 600 Scholarships
    For new postgraduate students studying in the fields of finance or big data.

  • SFC Funded Places
    For students from Scotland or non-UK EU countries taking selected Taught Masters courses.

  • Thomas and Margaret Roddan Trust (Postgraduate) 
    For current students; based on financial need and academic excellence. 

  • University Hall St Andrews Graduates' Association (UHSTAGA) Scholarship
    To pay accommodation fees for a female postgraduate student living in University Hall.
