St Andrews Entrant Bursaries2021 entry
St Andrews is committed to attracting the very best students, regardless of financial circumstances, which is why we offer a large number of bursaries and scholarships to undergraduate students.
We are offering a bursary of £1,500 per annum to all UK domiciled applicants who can demonstrate a household income of £34,000 or less, which will supplement funding available from household contribution and government sources in order to alleviate financial burden.

The following documents will be required:
Financial statement: A written personal financial statement describing any history of financial need (such as free school meals/fees), your current financial circumstances (written context of declared household income), any changes to your income (known changes such as job loss), and how a scholarship will assist your learning.
- Details of your personal financial situation
- Household members earning and those not earning income
- Any expected changes to this income after you start your intended course
- Whether you have been in receipt of any financial support such as benefits
- Any previous needs based scholarships/bursaries you have held
- Any extenuating circumstances such as carer, dependents, disability, refugee
- Where self-employed details of wages and drawings are required
- Any other information that will help us understand why you need funding
Household income evidence: Provide evidence of all relevant forms of income, for the current or most recent full year: employment/wage/salary statements (most recent three months), tax certificates or returns, confirmation letters from department of work and pensions, letters from local government, Council Tax statement, Tax credits, PIP, DLA, dividends, pension, annuity, where evidence is not available please provide bank statements/E-statements (most recent three months) to show receipt of income. Preferably pdf or similar small file size format.
It is extremely important that you apply to us for funding giving complete and accurate information to help us asses your application.
Your course and funding application are not linked, applying for funding in no way impedes your course application decision.

A funding application must be submitted before the deadline to be considered.
Please note that this bursary will be rescinded if you are awarded another scholarship of greater value that is fully or partially funded through the University of St Andrews.
This scholarship is available to complete and submit through My application, Scholarships and Funding - View my funding applications.
After you have applied to a new course beginning in academic year 2021, you will be provided with login details for the ‘My application’ portal. If you meet the general criteria you will be given access to the St Andrews Entrant Bursary application form within View my funding applications, you must complete and submit the application before the deadline to be considered for this award.

At what stage of my course application can I apply for this scholarship?
Please apply for the scholarship after you have submitted your application for a place at St Andrews. You do not need to wait until you have received an offer of a place before applying for the scholarship.
When will I hear if my application has been successful?
The outcome of your scholarship application will be available on "View my applications" in the Scholarships and Funding section of My Application. Once you have received an offer of a place at the University and have submitted and met the criteria for this bursary, a confirmation of award email will be issued to you.
