MSc Statistical Ecology Scholarship2022 entry
The School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of St Andrews hosts the multidisciplinary Centre for Research into Ecological and Environmental Modelling (CREEM: https://www.creem.st-andrews.ac.uk/). The MSc in Statistical Ecology is taught by CREEM staff and the research dissertation element of the programme takes advantage of CREEM’s links with researchers across the globe to give students opportunities to contribute to solving current real-world problems in statistical ecology.
The School is delighted to announce that we have several scholarships to cover MSc tuition fees to selected successful applicants. We have the equivalent of 2 international or 4 home tuition waivers, and students will be selected based on consideration of a range of criteria, including, but not limited to the following:
- We may give preference to applicants from “Developing economies” as defined by the United Nations (Table C of this document: https://www.un.org/en/development/desa/policy/wesp/wesp_current/2014wesp_country_classification.pdf).
- We may give preference to applicants with an outstanding academic record.
- We may give preference to applicants with a record of using statistical ecology methods in their work.
- We may give preference to applicants who can demonstrate that what they learn on the MSc will have an impact on some specific problem(s) in statistical ecology.
As part of the application you will be asked to provide a personal statement, in which you may want to say how your application relates to these criteria, and/or provide other details in support of your application.
