St Andrews - Aerial View

Students at the University of St Andrews, particularly those from abroad, are encouraged to make the most of their time spent at this university by venturing outside of the ‘bubble’ and exploring areas of the UK and the world beyond. It is also important to have a sound knowledge of the public transport systems available in St Andrews and the surrounding areas as they are often inexpensive and easy to use. Beyond Fife, there are a variety of different ways of getting around Scotland and the UK, each of which has their own advantages and disadvantages.

Students can also check out Visit Scotland, Traveline Scotland and Scotland Travel.

For more information on popular tourist destinations, visit National Trust Scotland, Welcome to Scotland and Historic Scotland.

For those travelling to Europe to any of the Schengen countries, see the Schengen visa FAQs.
