Absence
Unless you are studying online, attendance at classes, tutorials, exams and all other academic activities is a vital part of your learning. If you are unavoidably absent from a module, it is possible that an appropriate allowance may be made, but it is your responsibility to communicate with the affected schools as soon as possible:
- you must submit a self-certificate of absence for each affected module
- you must contact the appropriate staff member to follow-up as soon as possible (in advance for planned absence)
The official rules are given in the policy on student absence. See also: the policy on Academic Alerts (PDF, 650 KB), and the Senate Regulations (see section 16 on page 3 in the Undergraduate Senate Regulations, or section VI 7 on page 4 in the Postgraduate Senate Regulations).
