Simon joined Student Services in November 2018 as a Money Adviser. Prior to joining the university Simon worked in Financial Services and for a debt management charity so has extensive knowledge of money management and budgeting and can make suggestions as to how you can maximise your budget and start saving for unexpected costs as well as dealing with any debts you may have.
Simon advises students on the options available to them to finance their studies and can assist students who are facing difficulties with their finances or are concerned about if they will have enough money to last until the end of the term. Simon also disburses funds from the universities Discretionary fund, Accommodation fund, and Welfare funds and can arrange a University loan for you if you are facing delays with receiving your money or having temporary cash flow difficulties.
Simon is active in the St Andrews community and enjoys talking to students to understand their experiences of studying in St Andrews and any barriers they may be facing as well as assisting students to become self-sufficient in managing their finances through the use of technology and budgeting.
Simon is based in Eden Court on Monday’s and Wednesday’s and you can book appointments to discuss any of your money concerns by contacting email@example.com.
