Moira Ross
Counsellor
Moira has been with the counselling team in Student Services since 2020 after graduating from the Centre of Therapy in Glasgow having completed her placement as Student Counsellor at the University of Strathclyde. She has since obtained full accreditation from the BABCP (The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies).
Moira has worked in various student support and administrative roles within the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Strathclyde University. As well as counselling within higher education, she has worked as a therapist in a range of settings including a family run counselling service offering accessible CBT and group work sessions to the local community.
Moira specialises in CBT and has experience of numerous therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. She enjoys working collaboratively with students in their own self-discovery, providing them with the awareness, tools, and techniques to enable them to manage their mental health and work towards their personal goals.
