Dr Maria Dempster
Clinical Supervisor
Maria has recently joined Student Services, on a part-time basis, as a Clinical Supervisor. Maria provides Clinical Supervision to practitioners who work within the service and she is also involved in developing a wider strategy to provide a Consultation Service to all staff employed by the University.
Maria completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) at the University of Edinburgh and she qualified in 2009. Maria is Chartered with the Division of Clinical Psychology (BPS) and she is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She is also registered to practice in France. Maria has worked in the NHS and more recently in Paris where she delivered a Mental Health Service to Young People and Adults for six years.
She has worked closely with international educational institutions providing Consultation to staff and developing mental health strategy and awareness in schools. Maria returned to Scotland with her family in May 2019 after living in Paris for eight years. She is excited to be part of the University of St Andrews and looks forward to her role developing within the organisation.
