Comfort Kyeremeh
Mental Health Coordinator
Comfort joined the Student Services in 2020 as a Mental Health Coordinator. As a part of the wider team, she will be providing support for students living with mental health conditions/difficulties and those in crisis.
Comfort is a Registered Mental Health Nurse with extensive experience working for the NHS both in inpatient and community mental health teams, providing care for clients with mild to severe mental health conditions. She has a MSc in Global Mental Health and this has sustained her curiosity in working to understand how sociocultural way of doing things can influence mental health and manifestation of mental ill-health.
She has strong interest in providing person-centred, effective and solution-focused support, advice and care to those in her care, to help them live a meaningful life, irrespective of their mental health condition/difficulties.
She most recently worked at University of Edinburgh supporting students with their mental health difficulties before taking up this post. Comfort has a passion to continue working collaboratively with students, their families, university staff and local services to help students realize their potential whilst studying at the University of St Andrews.
When not working, Comfort loves exploring the marvel that is the Scottish natural landscape; from hillwalking/rambling to camping.
