Cindy has been with the University of St Andrews since 2009 and joined Student Services in June 2014. She has undertaken Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid Training through the National Health Service, has a BA in Literary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, has a PG Diploma in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology from the University of East London and is currently working on a Masters in Counselling at the University of Abertay.
As a Wellbeing Adviser, Cindy is often the first point of contact for students accessing Student Services with an issue or a problem. She discusses the issues or difficulties the student is experiencing and then makes a decision with the student about the next step. This might be a counselling appointment, a specialist adviser appointment, or working with Cindy using resources and tools that may be beneficial to the student, including positive psychology strategies and/or coaching.
