Integrating ecological data from multiple sources: challenges and opportunities.
Peter Henrys (Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, UK)
In this talk I will summarise some key methodological advances that have enabled data from multiple and diverse sources to
be combined within a unified modelling approach to address challenges associated with charting, and understanding the causes
and consequences of, environmental change. By enabling the integration of data collected at differing temporal and/or
spatial resolution and extent, the approach takes optimal advantage of all information available. I will provide examples
of where this has been successfully implemented at a national scale and the resulting scientific benefits.
I will also outline the wider opportunities that this brings as well as the challenges.
