Inaugural Lectures

Each year the University hosts a series of inaugural lectures given by recently appointed Professors. It is an opportunity for the University to showcase the academic achievements of its staff and also for the Professor to extend the reach of their research to the wider community. The inaugural lectures are free and open to staff, students and members of the public. There is no need to book, just turn up at the door. Inaugural lectures are a ceremonial occasion, and academic robes are worn by the inaugural professor and members of the Office of the Principal. Those attending the lecture do not wear academic robes.
