Entrepreneurship Education

'Entrepreneurship Education is defined as the application of enterprise behaviours, attributes and competencies into the creation of cultural, social or economic value. This can, but does not exclusively, lead to venture creation.

Entrepreneurship applies to both individuals and groups (teams or organisations), and it refers to value creation in the private, public and third sectors, and in any hybrid combination of the three.'

(Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, Enterprise and entrepreneurship education: Guidance for UK Higher Education Providers, January 2018, p. 7).

CAPOD offers a range of courses and events that link to enterprise and entrepreneurship.

  • The Professional Skills Curriculum, or PSC for short, is a co-curricular programme for students to help them learn about the kinds of workplace skills employers value
  • Taught postgraduate students (ie Masters) can apply to access three entrepreneurship courses that are part of the Research Skills Masters Programme from Epigeum, specifically:
    • Academic entrepreneurship: An introduction
    • Entrepreneurial opportunities: Recognition and evaluation
    • Entrepreneurial resources: People, teams and finance
