The University of St Andrews Surf Club boasts a very friendly and inclusive community, always looking for new members, regardless of surfing capabilities. The club strives to get out surfing every time the waves in St Andrews allow and also run a trip every year to destinations such as Fuerteventura and Morocco. The club owns a number of surfboards that members are free to use and a wide range of 5mm wetsuits, gloves, boots and hoods.
Training sessions are few and far between due to the nature of St Andrews' rather unrewarding wave forecasts but when there is some surf to be had sessions are generally coached by the more experienced members of the club, qualified to Level 1 standard.
The Surf Club supports the charity The Wave Project a not-for-profit CIC that transforms the lives of amazing young people through surfing.
