The Sub Aqua Club is the University’s BSAC-affiliated SCUBA diving club, which provides training for all divers: from absolute beginner to seasoned experts. Most of the clubs diving takes place here in Scotland; from shallow east coast sites used for training, to beautiful wrecks on the West Coast. The club regularly runs both single day and weekend trips, and during the Spring break runs an annual trip to Appin on the West Coast for a week. If cold water diving isn’t for you, the club also organises a warm water trip every January to destinations such as Egypt or Thailand. The club can provide all the necessary equipment; regs, BCDs, tanks, and their own RIB.

The club has a number of in-house instructors with experience in a variety of settings, as well as external instructors and participates in BSAC's South Scotland Regional Training Weekends which take place on the second Saturday of each month. These are large events where the club can send some of their trainee divers to train with local experienced instructors and meet divers from other clubs in Scotland. The club also offers the BSAC Ocean Diver qualification for new divers at the start of each academic year. For interested Ocean Diver trainees, the club holds Try Dives in the pool to give an idea of what diving is all about and for divers with more experience the BSAC Sports Diver and Dive Leader qualifications are offered.
