Shinty is a traditional Scottish team sport played on grass pitches with long sticks called camans and a leather ball, and the Gaelic forefather to many modern sports such as hockey, ice hockey and golf.
Teams & Competitions
The Shinty Club is made up of 1 competitive Men's Team and 1 competitive Women's team, both of which compete in the Scottish Student Sport (SSS) Saturday Shinty League. Unfortunately Shinty is not part of the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) championships.

Shinty is a relatively small sport, all of the Women's sessions are open to all levels of ability and new members are always welcome.
Last year the Women's Team supported the mental health charity MIND, raising £350 by running small fundraising activities throughout the year, such as bake sales and an annual ‘pound-a-joke’ night.
