Introduction

The University Riding Club offers premier facilities, great horses and a high standard of coaching support. The club provides opportunities for every level of rider and a great community spirit, and are always looking for new members. Lessons cover both flatwork and jumping and for those looking for more competitive rides, the two teams travel all across Britain to compete.

Training

The team trains once per week on Wednesday afternoons, as well as additional clinics, at a facility called Drumcarrow Equestrian that's a short 10 minutes outside St Andrews.

Coaching

The Riding Club's trainers are Stephen and Angus Lohoar, both well known working professionals in the Equestrian industry. Angus and Stephen Lohoar have both worked, trained and competed in a number of countries, where they have gained invaluable experience.

Teams & Competitions

The Riding Club boasts two competitive teams, an A Team and a B Team, which compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) championships throughout the year. Each team is made up of 4 members. Some members of the club also compete independently of the club in Scottish Jumping.

Recreational Sessions

The Riding Club offers more than 4 hours of training, 3 days a week for recreational and club training. There are usually around 12 members training each day, but plenty of room to accommodate more riders.

Outreach

Members of the club volunteer with Riding for the Disabled (RDA), a UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of people through education, therapy and fun.
