Founded in 2011, University of St Andrews Typhoons became Scotland's second University ice hockey team alongside the Edinburgh Eagles. A member of the British Universities Ice Hockey Association (BUIHA) the Typhoons have quickly established themselves as one of the top university ice hockey clubs in Britain. The Typhoons have over 30 players, ranging from lifelong competitors to those with only a few years of experience.
Weekly practices take place on Tuesday nights (11:00pm to 12:00am) every week of the semester at the Dundee Ice Arena. These sessions are usually competitive and fast-paced, often resulting in a scrimmage at the end.
