Handball is an energetic and fast-paced sport that spiked in popularity across the UK in the years following the London 2012 Olympics. Having been formed just under 4 years ago the Handball Club is continuing to grow in size each year and welcomes players of all abilities. In 2018, the club introduced its Development Squad, aimed at helping beginners develop their handball skills so that they become competition-ready.

Teams & Competitions
Now firmly established, the club sends both its Women's and Men's teams to tournaments across the country, playing friendly matches against other Scottish Universities and travelling to England to compete at national tournaments. Handball is currently not part of the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) championships, but the club still competes in Scottish and British University fixtures. It came in second place in the Men’s Scottish University League of 2016/17 and again in 2017/18.
Being such a new club, all training sessions cater for both performance and recreational purposes, as the club looks to grow its membership over the next few years. This includes the occasional round of Beach Handball. In 2018, the club held a Beach Handball tournament, with teams coming from all over Scotland to compete on West Sands.
Throughout the 2018/19 academic year, the Handball Club will send student volunteers to local schools to help coach sessions and grow the sport in the UK. It currently has a partnership with the Cosmos Centre, and sends players to help with its after-school programme weekly.
