St Andrews triumph at opening Scottish Student Sport League 1 Trampoline event

The University Trampoline and Gymnastics Club currently top the standings in the Scottish Student Sport (SSS) Trampoline championships after collecting 23 points at the opening League 1 event at the end of October.

In their most successful competition to date, the club started off the season by collecting 10 individual level category medals, with the team of Iona, Murray, Alex and Ruth also picking up the gold team medal for achieving the highest combined score. A squad of 19 travelled to Stirling for the event, with several new members taking part despite only joining the club a few weeks ago.

Medals:

  • Murray Findlay (new member) - Gold in the Pro-elite Men’s category
  • Alex Lednicky (Vice-Captain) - Silver in the Elite Ladies category
  • Ruth Wright (Head Coach) - Bronze in the Elite Ladies category - Silver in the Tumbling Level 1 category
  • Iona Chisholm - Gold in the Advanced Ladies
  • Matt Nutter (Captain) - Silver in Advanced Men’s
  • Emily Longtin - Silver in Intermediate Ladies
  • Daphne Bogosian (first ever SSS competition) - Silver in Novice Ladies
  • Sophie Tyler (Secretary) - Gold in Novice Ladies
  • Gavin Sandford - Silver in Novice Men’s
