Sports Centre closure

The SPORTS CENTRE was CLOSED on Monday 16 March and will remain closed until further notice.

Reopening University sports facilities and services

We understand the importance of people being active and the particular role sport and exercise can have on our physical and mental wellbeing and we are working behind the scenes on plans for a phased reopening that follows the Scottish Government's route map through and out of the crisis.

As restrictions are lifted, and when it is safe to do so, we will begin to reopen our sports facilities and services in line with the latest Scottish Government advice, Sports Governing Body guidelines, and in a way that helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

General information

How long will the Sports Centre be closed?

We will continue to follow the latest guidance from the Scottish Government and UK/Scottish health authorities and take instruction from the University.

As restrictions are lifted, and when it is safe to do so, we will begin to reopen our sports facilities and services in line with the latest Scottish Government advice, Sports Governing Body guidelines, and in a way that helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Our outdoor facilities are open, but for now, indoor facilities will remain closed until further notice. This is a full closure of the facility and associated services/classes/leagues etc.

When will the gym open?

We understand the importance of people being active and the particular role sport and exercise can have on our physical and mental wellbeing and we are working behind the scenes on plans for a phased reopening that follows the Scottish Government's route map through and out of the crisis.

Our sports facilities and services will reopen as restrictions are lifted, and when it is safe to do so, in line with the latest Scottish Government advice, Sports Governing Body guidelines, and in a way that helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
