Charity campaigner and fundraiser, Phil Packer, was in St Andrews yesterday as part of his latest fundraising campaign, Row Britannia, to help students and young people. An inclusive (adaptive sport) challenge, Row Britannia, encourages teams throughout the UK to row 2020 miles to raise vital funds and increase positive awareness of mental health issues for students and young people. Each team has a target of £3000 to raise before Sport Relief on 13 March 2020.

Experienced Sports Development Professional heading back to Saints Sport

Saints Sport is delighted to announce the appointment of Duncan Caithness to the role of Assistant Director of Sport (Sport Development). Duncan joins the team from Bowls Scotland where he has held the roles of National Development Manager and Head of Coach and Volunteer Development.

George Burns secures Scottish Men’s Amateur golf title

George Burns, who graduated from The University of St Andrews in 2018, is showing that it pays to work hard and train well as he took home the coveted Scottish Men’s Amateur title after a rewarding week at Crail last weekend.

Tickets on Sale for Royal Bank of Scotland Scottish Varsity Matches

Tickets are now on sale for the 2019 Royal Bank of Scotland Scottish Varsity Matches on 21 September at BT Murrayfield. Fans will once again be able to see the University of Edinburgh and the University of St Andrews’ rugby teams clash on the international pitch, with tickets priced at £5 for students/under 18s and £10 for adults.

Cycling for Charlie

13 players and staff from the University of St Andrews Football Club and Department of Sport and Exercise completed a gruelling cycling challenge as they battled the elements from St Andrews to Manchester raising funds for the charity Bloodwise (formally Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research).
