Tuesday 07 February 2017
The Rifle Club has had a number of impressive results this semester from both new and returning members to the club.
The first GP of the season, Aberdeen, was a great success for all involved. Returning member Angela Ou finished Second in B Class, while first time competitor Catalina Kim came 3rd in Novice Class, beginning a trend of high performance that would carry on throughout the rest of the semester. The St Andrews team of VIII would finish second overall.
Held the following day, Robert Gordon University GP mirrored the success of the previous day. Katherine Nevin improved upon her preceding results to finish second in B Class. Catalina Kim achieved much the same and finished 2nd in Novice Class. The St Andrews team of VIII would replicate their exceptional performance from the previous days shooting to finish in 2nd place.
The final GP of the semester, Edinburgh, rewarded Catalina Kim’s committed training with a 1st place finish in the Novice Class. St Andrews team of VIII performed well, losing out narrowly on 2nd place.
There were consistently high finishes from the Ladies Triad, a category where St Andrews has always performed extremely well. They finished 2nd in both the Aberdeen and RGU GPs and 3rd at Edinburgh.
Commitment to training produced exceptional results throughout the Semester, which ensured that St Andrews was able to outperform Aberdeen University, RGU and Glasgow University, however Edinburgh proved tough to beat.
