Windsurfing Club - Semester 1 Report 2016-17
Friday 03 February 2017
University of St Andrews Windsurfing Club has succesfully held sessions at Monikie country park this semester. It has been really rewarding for the club to see complete beginners taking an interest in the sport. Whilst at the sessions, all those taking part have enjoyed themselves tremendously, whilst at the same time improving their skills and techniques. Despite sometimes challenging weather conditions, these sessions are extremely valuable for introducing newcomers to the sport, as well as allowing more advanced members to practise their skills.
During semester 2 we plan on continuing sessions at Monikie country park. In addition, we are currently planning our summer trip to Vassiliki, Greece. We will be taking around 20 students to Club Vass for a week of world class tuition in significantly warmer climes! This is a great opportunity for both beginners and experts alike, as there are wind conditions in the bay to suit all levels. The trip also serves as a great bonding experience and cements friendships within the club.
