Saints Rugby Commemorated in Tapestry
Thursday 27 June 2013
The University of St Andrews Rugby Team’s involvement in rugby at the time of the 1st Rugby International match, between Scotland and England at Raeburn Place in 1871, has been commemorated in a panel in the Great Tapestry of Scotland.
This Tapestry is currently being completed for submission next week and is to be unveiled at the Scottish Parliament in September. The embroidery has over 150 panels (1 meter square) and is based on Scottish history as far back as pre-historic times.
