University of St Andrews Scholar selected for World University Games

St Andrews sports scholar Kathryn Williamson has been selected to represent the university as part of the Great British team at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia in July.
The World University Games is the second largest sporting event in the world, only beaten by the Olympics. 27 different sports and many more events within these sports will be held in Kazan this year.
Kathryn is a rifle shooter and Secretary for the University Rifle Club. In her two years at St Andrews the team has been very successful; being overall Scottish University Champions within SSS events and the highest placed Scottish University team at both indoor and outdoor BUCS championships. Outside of the university Kathryn is part of the Scottish Fast Track Squad and is currently ranked 1st in Britain for junior women prone rifle. She travels internationally representing both Scotland and Great Britain and is looking forward to going to the University Games where she will be competing in two events: 50m prone rifle and 10m air rifle.
