University versus county

Tuesday 01 March 2011

by Lucy Cullen

Arriving at the Monifieth golf course on Sunday 27 February, the 1st and 2nd ladies golf team prepared for their match against Angus County. Although having won 3 matches and lost 4, the competition was close and offered the players interesting matchplay. Welsh national player, Gemma Bradbury and Angus county player, Ashley Smith, proved to make a good pair and high expectations from their future matches will be expected.

Considering the winter conditions of the course, this day proved to be a good training session in preparation of the BUCS final at the end of the month. As the 1st team players will be back in Lossiemouth to defend their title, the girls will be playing beforehand against Fife County on Sunday 6 March and in the BUCS order of merit at Dundonald golf course on 17 and 18 March. Good luck ladies!
