St Andrews and Stirling together form Scotland&#8217;s premier centre for Philosophy and one of the top Philosophy programmes in the United Kingdom. The philosophical ambience is rigorous, friendly and co-operative. Both the Stirling and St Andrews Philosophy departments subscribe to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bpa.ac.uk\/resources\/women-in-philosophy\/good-practice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">British Philosophical Association\/Society for Women in Philosophy&#8217;s Good Practice Scheme<\/a> for encouraging the representation of women in Philosophy. In addition, SASP hosts a chapter of <a href=\"http:\/\/stirlingbus.com\/map\/\">Minorities and Philosophy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The St Andrews and Stirling Graduate programme in Philosophy (SASP) is taught by the Philosophy departments at the University of St Andrews and the University of Stirling, which together form Scotland&#8217;s premier centre for Philosophy and one of the top Philosophy programmes in the United Kingdom. The philosophical ambience is rigorous, friendly and co-operative.<\/p>\n<p>Our students benefit from participation in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.st-andrews.ac.uk\/arche\/\">Arch\u00e9 Philosophical Research Centre<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/ceppa.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk\">Centre for Ethics, Philosophy and Public Affairs<\/a> and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stir.ac.uk\/about\/faculties\/arts-humanities\/law-and-philosophy\/philosophy-research\/\">Stirling&#8217;s three specialist research clusters<\/a>. In addition, St Andrews hosts the <a href=\"https:\/\/staigs.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk\/\">Institute for Gender Studies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Many recent SASP students now hold permanent or tenure-track positions in the US, the UK and elsewhere.
