Knowledge transfer

This is a technical term describing the way academic knowledge can be passed on and applied usefully in the outside world. After all, there is little point in finding out the answer to our problems if we don't give it to someone who can do something with it.

Our staff seminar series acts as forum for cross-pollination of ideas, as research staff give presentations to a wide audience drawn mainly from the University.

The visiting speaker series allows us to pick up new developments and inspiration from outwith the University.

SASI workshops provoke a more in depth exchange of ideas between academics, University governance and external organisations.

We have developed links with policy bodies, public and private sector organisations, providing consultance, training and advice.
