The St Andrews Behavioural Interaction Coding Scheme (SABICS)

The St Andrews Behavioural Interaction Coding Scheme (SABICS) (PDF, 134 KB)  is developed to record interactive behaviours between dental nurses and 3-5 years old children in a community dental preventive care context (the fluoride varnish application). It consists of 48 codes: 6 protocol codes, 29 and 13 behavioural codes for nurse and child respectively. It can also be used for other paediatric settings when suitably modified.
