Data management plan

All researchers are expected to complete a data management plan (DMP) at the start of their project. The RDM team can assist with the creation of this plan.

Description

The University Research Data Management Policy expects all researchers (staff and students) to complete a data management plan (DMP) at the start of their project.

For many research funders a DMP is mandatory as part of a grant proposal. The plan usually contains such information as:

  • What data you will be working with
  • How you will organise and describe your data
  • How you will store and back-up data during your project
  • Any legal, ethical or commercial requirements relating to your data
  • What data you will keep after the project/how long for and where will it be archived/how will it meet the University and research funders open data requirements

The Research Data Management (RDM) team can assist with creating this data management plan for you.
