Orientation 2017 - 2018

The School of Psychology & Neuroscience would like to extend a warm welcome to our new and returning students.

Academic Fayre - Monday 11th September, 12:30 - 14:00

Upper and Lower College Hall.

The Academic Fayre is an opportunity for all entrant students to get a little more information about their chosen modules, as well as those who are still unsure about their module choices.


Neuroscience information and welcome for all students - Tuesday 12th September, 16:00-17:00

Lecture Theatre D, Bute Building.

A chance to learn more about the Neuroscience programme.


Neuro Party '17 - Tuesday 12th September, 17:00

‌Psych Me Out! - Wednesday 13th September, 15:00 - 17:00

St Mary's Quad - Secret Garden.

Psychology and Neuroscience undergraduate and postgraduate students are invited to join us as we celebrate the start of the new academic year. This is a particularly good opportunity for new students to come and meet fellow classmates, senior students and members of our teaching team. It also gives our returning students a chance to catch up after the summer.  We look forward to seeing you!


Second Year Welcome Lecture (PS2001) - Thursday 14th September, 10:00-11:00

Purdie B Lecture Theatre, Chemistry. 

In this induction meeting we provide important information about the module.


First Year Welcome Lecture (PS1001) - Thursday 14th September, 11:00-12:00

Purdie A Lecture Theatre, Chemistry. 

In this induction meeting we provide lots of important information about the module and explain how to sign up for lab classes. You will also have an opportunity to meet members from the University community including the School President, Psych & Neuro Soc, English Language Teaching and CAPOD. Information on required books and the course handbook can be found on the Current Students page.


Welcome Junior Honours Psychology Students - Friday 15th September, 10:00-11:00

Old Library, Psychology Building.

Informal talk for all junior honours students to discuss the JH programme. Chance to meet with the degree controller and fellow students.


Welcome Senior Honours Psychology Students - Friday 15th September, 11:00-12:00

Old Library, Psychology Building.

Informal talk for all senior honours students to discuss the SH programme. Chance to meet with the degree controller and fellow students.


Masters - MSc Psychology (Conversion), MSc Research Methods in Psychology and MSc Evolutionary and Comparative Psychology - Induction Meeting - Friday 15th September, 15:30-16:30

An induction meeting in the School with refreshments.


PhD & MSc (by Research) Induction Meeting - Thursday 21st September, 14:00-15:30

Coffee Room, School of Psychology & Neuroscience.

An induction meeting in the School followed by a wine reception (15:30-17:00)
