The Publications team within Print and Design is responsible for editing, proofreading, publishing and promoting the University through effective communication with key audiences using a range of printed and digital material in an effective and professional way. The publications are of interest to a wide range of people: staff and students, prospective staff and students, parents, alumni, friends and supporters, those in the local community and visitors.

We work very closely with the Design Unit in the production of these communications.

We are also responsible for maintaining an imagebank of current photographs of all aspects of the University as well as working with freelance photographers. Some of the publications which we produce or contribute to include:

The memos for staff and undergraduate and postgraduate students are moderated by Publications. The memos Wordpress website is here: Please login using your University username and password. Further information can be found here:

Corporate identity

We are also responsible for the application of the University logo, branding and visual identity.

Please see our corporate identity webpage where you can find information on:

  • University logos
  • Corporate identity guidelines
  • Email signatures
  • Powerpoint templates
  • University letterheads
  • Logos for merchandise including clothing

‌Proofing and production

We manage the proofing processes and production timetables of key University publications, such as the undergraduate and postgraduate prospectuses and recruitment material, on behalf of Admissions, Registry and other central University units. Proofreading is included as part of the service.

We are also involved in the production of pdf and digital versions of course catalogues and degree lists.

Please note - if you are planning on producing undergraduate or postgraduate recruitment or information material for your School/Department, please contact us as there may already be a publication planned or in print for prospective students. We also need to ensure that there is consistency in the information which is provided across the University.

If you are planning a publication which includes generic information about the University (such as key facts, league table information, statistics e.g. student numbers), please contact us to confirm that the details are up to date.

House style

Part of our proofreading processes include ensuring that all publications meet the University's House Style both for print and digital communications.
