The University is also a member of Vitae – giving research students free access to Vitae online resources.

Academic Skills

Alongside these programmes CEED provide workshops, resources, and one-to-one sessions for postgraduates wanting to develop their general academic competencies. This includes:

Keep in mind that you can also book a free 1:1 virtual appointment with one of the tutors in CEED, or use the Ask a tutor service if you have any quick study skills.

Language Skills

The ability to speak another language helps postgraduates to stand out in a global workforce. The University offers evening language courses throughout the academic year giving postgraduates the opportunity to learn another language, enhance their employability, and make new friends.

Available languages include Chinese (Mandarin), German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. Courses are available for students at all levels of study, from beginners to advanced learners. A fee is payable for evening language courses and courses may not be used as credit towards a degree programme.

St Leonard’s College offers a number of stipends to PGR students, to allow them to take part in University’s evening language courses.
