Writing Science Workshops for MSc Students

St Leonard's Postgraduate College is pleased to present two workshops for MSc students who want to improve their scientific writing.

Led by Dr Joanna Young, the workshops will look at the principles and characteristics of scientific writing as well as techniques that you can apply to improve your own scientific writing. This is an opportunity to develop your academic communication skills and learn practical techniques that you can apply in your MSc and your career beyond.

Details

The workshops are open to MSc students from the Schools of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Geography and Sustainable Development, Mathematics and Statistics, Medicine, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology and Neuroscience, and the Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies.

The workshops take place:

  • Tuesday 22 October 2019, 1400 to 1700

  • Tuesday 29 October 2019, 1400 to 1700

Applications

Places at each workshop are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis.

About Joanna Young

Joanna completed her undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies at the University of Edinburgh and is now a teaching fellow in the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Joanna started her own training and publishing company - Electv - in 2011. Electv provides training to scientists and researchers in the UK and Europe with a focus on researcher development, communication, and enterprise.
