Introduction to Excel: Managing Data OR You should already be competent with creating and editing a data set.

Course information

This course will introduce features in Excel to enable users to control graphical representation of data and use pivot table graphical elements to analyse data.

Skills covered include

Creating and modifying charts

  • understanding appropriate use of chart types and sub-types
  • using Chart Elements
  • controlling chart formatting
  • using a secondary axis
  • making compound charts
  • resolving chart errors
  • using Sparklines

Creating and using Pivot Tables

  • the requirements for using Pivot Tables
  • understanding Pivot Shell structure
  • generating and modifying a Pivot Report
  • using filters and slicers
  • making compound reports
  • summary options
  • creating and using pivot charts
