About the Music Centre

Welcome to the University of St Andrews Music Centre.  The Music Centre provides facilities for enjoying music in all its forms to all sections of the St Andrews community.  Situated in the Younger Hall, the largest public auditorium in the area, we offer facilities and opportunities for individual and group practice, tuition and performance, concert-going and formal academic training.

As well as being the Music Centre for the University, we are also a major facility for the wider community. Most of our ensembles and groups are open to all and some are specifically designed for children. Beginners in all disciplines are most welcome, so if you have never had the opportunity to involve yourself in music in the past, do have a look at what we can offer.

Our orchestra in residence, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, performs here regularly, and the University of St Andrews enjoys a close relationship with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.

You can find information about all of the facilities and opportunities that we offer in these pages.  In addition we publish an events leaflet which details all of the musical performances that we have planned.  If you would like to receive a regular copy, please join our publicity mailing list by contacting us at the Music Centre.
