Collections Centre
The Collections Centre is an environmentally controlled store which houses some of the fascinating treasures from the collections of Scotland’s oldest university. It is home to many objects from the University’s vast collection of over 115,000 artefacts that are not on display in our three public venues.
These are active collections, and available for research and teaching, as well as for loans and exhibitions. We welcome researchers who would like to make an appointment to study the collections, or who would like information about any objects or collection areas.
You can find basic information using the collections search. We are working on ambitious plans to digitise the entire collection. However, this is a work in progress, and the online search does not include every object.
