International and Language Schools

As MUSA tells the story of the University of St Andrews from its foundation to the present day it is the perfect starting point for discovering the town and University.

Every year hundreds of students visit our venues as part of an excursion from overseas to experience the history and culture of Scotland’s oldest university, develop their language skills or explore the possibility of studying here.

We offer a number of free options for visits to MUSA from overseas students, which can be organised by contacting the Learning & Access Team

Interactive tours

Participatory, interactive and hands-on tours of MUSA introduce students to the University, its history and some of the characters who have worked and studied here. Content and level of English is tailored to each group. Tours may also be available in French, Italian or Spanish.

Self-guided visits

Groups are welcome to visit without the support of a member of the museum’s staff.  Resources are available to assist with your visit.  We would be grateful if you could let us know that you intend to come in advance.  If you are coming on a self-guided visit please see the Information and facilities for visiting schools page and review our Guidelines for school visits to MUSA (PDF, 102 KB).
