Information and facilities for visiting schools


  • MUSA is located at 7A The Scores, St Andrews, KY16 9AR. A map and more details of MUSA's location are available on the MUSA page
  • Mini-bus parking is available in MUSA’s car park. Coaches can drop pupils on North Street beside St Salvator’s College chapel, allowing easy and safe access to The Scores along Butts Wynd.  Coach parking is available at West Sands.
  • The Learning Loft is a fully-equipped modern education space for visiting groups, allowing for discussion, handling sessions and art and craft activities.
  • The Art Cart allows large quantities of materials and stationary to be transported around the galleries with ease.
  • The Roof Terrace offers stunning views over the bay and opportunities for the discussion of environmental issues.
  • Lunch can be eaten in the Learning Loft with prior arrangement. Unfortunately lunch cannot be eaten in the galleries or on the viewing terrace.
  • Bags and coats can be locked in the Learning Loft.
  • Full disabled access.

 Bell Pettigrew Museum of Natural History 

  • The Bell Pettigrew Museum of Natural History is located in the Bute Medical Buildings, St Andrews, KY16 9TS. A map and more details about the location of the Bell Pettigrew are available on the Bell Pettigrew page.  
  • Mini-buses and coaches can drop students on South Street at the entrance to St Mary’s Quad, allowing for a short walk through the College grounds to the museum.  Parking for coaches is available at West Sands.
  • Lunch can be eaten in St Mary’s Quad in suitable weather.
  • Full disabled access.

MUSA Collections Centre 

  • The MUSA Collections Centre is located at 87 North Street, St Andrews, KY16 9AE. A map and more detail about the location are available on the MUSA Collections Centre page
  • On-street pay parking is available for mini-buses. Coach parking is available at the West Sands.
  • The MUSA Collections Centre is a working museum store and groups should keep this in mind while visiting.
  • Groups entering the store area are limited to 10 at a time, including teachers.
  • Food and drink cannot be taken into the store area.
  • Only pencils can be used in the store area.
  • Coats and bags can be left in lockers before entering the store area.
  • Due to the climate controls necessary within the store area it can sometimes be a bit chilly. It is advisable to bring a warm jumper.
  • Full disabled access.
