More details about each institution are given below, with a list of the main subjects usually offered. Please note that subjects are susceptible to change, and that Joint Honours students will also need to confirm the availability of their subject(s) with the respective Year Abroad co-ordinators of other Schools.

Studying in France: The undergraduate degree in France, the licence, is three years in duration. Admission to a university is not selective, and any student in possession of the baccalauréat may enrol. Consequently, the higher education sector is much larger than in the UK, though there is also a high drop-out rate after the first or second year of study. Because of the large number of students, and the strain on resources which this imposes, contacts with tutors and the administration are likely to be much more anonymous than in a British university. Nevertheless, a period of study at a French university can be enormously beneficial in terms of linguistic, cultural and personal development.
