Research and Teaching

My role as a Lector in Russian is to oversee language provision and to coordinate practical language-related teaching in the Russian Department.  I have designed and developed teaching and learning materials for Russian language classes at all levels of the undergraduate programme.  These include course materials for oral, AV and written classes (essay) and additional teaching materials for the Multi-Media Centre.  I am teaching a broad range of core Russian language classes to students at all levels (from complete beginners to senior honours).

Originally from Russia, Yaroslavl, I have an undergraduate degree from Yaroslavl State Pedagogic University and MLitt in Russian Studies from University of St Andrews.

The short course I ran at the Open Association named ‘Scots tramping the roads to Russia’ reflects my deep interest in connections between Russian and Scottish cultures and the input of Scots in Russian history. My other interest lies in understanding children’s bilingualism.
